Gemma Mullen, an Anaesthetic / Prehospital Emergency Medicine Consultant, has agreed to give us an insight into life on the front lines of emergency medicine on the ground and in the skies.
Gemma is part of a 48-strong team of volunteers and staff that keeps the North West Air Ambulance flying. They provide life saving care to those in the most desperate situations and locations. The complex medical interventions they provide at the scene are of the same standard that a patient would receive in hospital and by bringing the hospital to the patient, they give everyone the best chance of survival.
